Worst endings ever

Neh, Frank Grimes was rude to Homer, when Homer was perfectly kind to him and Grimes begrudged Homer all of his success... and because of that he stuck his hand into a high voltage wire. No one told him to do that, he did it because he refuses to accept Homer. And that's just not cool.

That's how YOU interpret it. To me it just screamed 'It was all just a dream...' which is the lamest ending you can think of.

I think the brilliant writers had finally written themselves into a corner... "Okay, we've killed off both of his friends, and Skull Master is on the verge of total victory... how the Hell are we going to make a satisfying, logical conclusion now?"

Yeah, but look at it this way: If there was ever a series revival, we could have*alternate* versions of some of those episodes, some where Max screws up even more simply because he KNOWS what's coming and trying to go a different route alters the outcome. Plus we'd get more of Max vs. Skullmaster on Skullmaster's turf, which was the highlight of season 1.

I doubt that, in the improbable occurance they revive the toyline, they would continue the serie. They would just do it from the ground up.
