I remember seeing this one cartoon where a bee drew lines across someone's neck (was it their neck?) using its stinger and stung him. May have been a Looney Tunes or Merrie Melodies short but I remember it giving me nightmares due to my bee phobia.

Maybe it's an old Barney(or is it Barnaby?) the Bear cartoon where he tries to get honey from a beehive and whenever a bee was around he'd sing bee bee bee bee bee to the tune of Rock a Bye Baby. I think he was an MGM character.
I don't remember Barney Bear ever doing that. That sounds more like a scene from one of The 3 Bears Looney Tunes shorts The Bee-Deviled Bruin (1949, Directed by Chuck Jones). Incidentally, the bear in that aforementioned scene was Papa Bear and the word he sang was "buzz", not "bee".
