su: permission denied, what am i doing wrong?

oh lol i get different things about my user name xD well i coppied the files into a k:\droid directory, what do i do next

1.connect your phone to the computer
2.open up a command prompt on your computer (Start>run>cmd)
3.type in

this should change your directory to the android folder
4.type

remount failed: Operation not permitted

ok wait maybe at this point u have to do what it says on the tutorial so type

also make sure u have usb debuggin checked on your phone (settings>applications>development)

did that and i guess it transferred the file coz it gave me the transfer time, and next i suppose i do adb shell and than the $ symbol pops out and i put su and it gives me permission denied

you should get $ symbol then type
