But I am a big fan of the first two.

I watched all of them recently and Batman Returns has to be my favourite of the bunch with great performances by everyone involved. Batman Forever is campy yet entertaining, Batman & Robin is bad but most disappointing is the original Batman which did not withstand the test of time at all. It just drags and feels almost like a Jack Nicholson vehicle rather than a Batman movie.

DeVito may have overacted a bit but he did a good job considering how ridiculous the source material was; I mean, it's a fucking man-penguin.. even Johnny Depp's and Daniel Day-Lewis' lovechild couldn't pull that off convincingly.
