    the point of taxing lower income brackets less than higher income brackets is that there's a certain minimum amount of money one needs to spend to live. you can't tax someone who makes $20,000 a year MORE than someone who makes $20,000,000 a year, it just doesn't make any fucking sense.

    Yeah bro, we don't pay federal taxes on income earned in a state. And states have their own 60% brackets apparently haha.

    Yep, he wants to increase long term capital gains tax to 28%+.

    That will sure jump start the economy

    IF he enacts it exactly as he has it laid out on the campaign trail. bush & clinton didn't stray too far from what they promised though, so i'm not too worried

    They do not and this includes state, local, federal, social security, FICA, etc.

    and the question isn't, "why do the wealthy have to be punished for having money?" it's, "why does the average person have to be punished for not having money?"

    McCain wants to spend more money AND cut taxes on the rich. we're already running a deficit, where's that extra money going to come from?
