It's not all speculation, in fact, some of it's already happening in the united states. Unfortunately for your argument the right to free healthcare wasn't written into the constitution (I'm a fairly strict constitutionalists who opposes most socialistic programs sans police/fire/roads/etc) Welfare is a prime example of a program with good intentions that is completely taken advantage of all across america. No joke, 2 days ago at the grocery store the family in front of my bought groceries with food stamps and got into a lexus. It's bullshit.
If you think Obama's bullshit estimate of how much healthcare would cost the taxpayer is correct you're extremely gullible. I'm all for axing welfare, but it's a drop in the bucket. For example: about 360 billion is spent a year on welfare. Last year 2.3 TRILLION DOLLARS was spent on health care. Sources:

Do the fucking math. What you are asking for is ridiculous.
The government doesnt force companies to put preservatives in their food, it's done to increase profit by increasing shelf life. A better example would be cali and ny (im sure amongst other states) banning things like trans fats. Yes, they are not good for you, not you should not eat them, but you think making my health a government expenditure isnt going to greatly increase the governments role in our personal lives?
And meat is unhealthy? Cancer doesnt naturally occur? Christ why am I wasting my time with you.
For my final point: Look up how long it takes patients who need MRIs to get them in countries with government run healthcare and compare them to our waits. Fucking educate yourself, jesus.
not to mention jack up taxes.
- Socialized healthcare would be poor quality most likely.
- Want health insurance, pay for it yourself.
- Someone has to pay for it...we'll just have our taxes increased. Thus the middle to rich will be paying for the poor.
and that is EXACTLY what will happen. with the decreasing amount of people going to med school and the increase in people with insurance wanting to see doctors and have surgeries there will be a HUGE wait to be able to get anything done.
off topic of healthcare but i think it was funny that obama said on his infomercial "lets reward hard work"...
yeah, we'll tax families and individuals that make 200k and above b/c they dont have hard work
