What does it mean if I have an extreme sexual desire?

I should have my period any day now. I want to know if that has anything to do with it but I feel like a man eater right now. I feel like I want a boyfriend this second and want to kiss with someone and feel those sort of feelings with them. I had a boyfriend for 3 years and we have been broken up for almost 5 months. I'm not sure if it has to do with being used to having a boyfriend and now without it I'm going crazy? I don't have any guy friends, and live out in a place where there isn't many people around. I'm trying to get a job just to meet someone because I feel like I'm going crazy? Is it just hormones? I feel lonely or something.
