The service engine soon light has been on since I bought the car, and it's because of a slippage in the torque converter. I know the tc works harder at higher speeds, and I drove for around 2 hours doing 70mph the whole time. By the time I got near my house, I had to drop down to 55mph. I noticed the SES light had gone away (I didn't see it disappear, I just noticed it wasn't there anymore). What could this mean? Is the issue getting worse? Maybe it was just the sensor?

It drives fine and shifts well. I know I'm going to have to get it fixed eventually because it's a shit part for this make and model. I'm just looking for some speculation on why the light may have disappeared. This is the first trip I've had with the vehicle that required 70mph.

Thanks,
