I live on Cape Cod and the 10th anniversary of 9-11 received a lot of observance.

Flags were placed at half-staff, pieces of steel from Ground Zero were erected at local fire stations as permanent memorials, parades, prayers, speeches, moments of silence etc.

Since the tragedy began at Boston's Logan Airport and New York City took the brunt of the blow followed by the Pentagon and the forty odd souls aboard United Flight 93 that was crashed in Pennsylvania, I'm wondering if 9-11 is mostly a 'northeastern thing'. Perhaps people in the midwest or the west coast aren't as emotionally caught up in it.

Please answer telling your hometown and how 9-11's tenth anniversary was observed or experienced in your locale.
