Thread: Yamaha vs Epiphone??

I'm goona buy my first acoustic guitar and i need help
I went to guitarcenter yesterday and checkout their acoustic guitars
I ask a guy their which one should i get and said yamaha but i'm not really sure he said that epiphone guitars are crusty sounded

they're the same thing it's just that epiphones are cheaper and made in china with the exact same materials and blueprints. The salesman will say yamaha because they're more expensive and he gets commission based on percentage of cost.

I have both a Epiphone and Yamaha. Both are good guitars. Buy whatever sounds best to you. Hang out at the store and play a wide variety of anything in your price range. Go alone if you can so you don't have anybody bugging you to get going. Take your time and try a lot before you make up your mind. Good luck!

Epiphones are cheap guitars made mostly for new people who wants a nice looking guitars at low price. Yamaha I a better quality but in honest opinion...they're pricier than they should be. I play a Sigma guitar which is a good quality. Mine is a TB-1 model I bought 11 years ago.Sigma is owned by C.F. Martin. They make high quality guitars that's usually over $1k price like Guild guitars. If you're curious about electric/acoustic guitars, also check out Ovation models.

Overall....the best guitar is the one you're comfotable to play in..given the price.

go on cnet or amazon or whatever, search both, and look at reviews. Make a pros cons list if you need to. Reasearch. Over-research. Make sure that you've bought the better guitar beyond doubt.

Guitar dude is right. Yamaha acoustics are better.
