Bible is the number 1 bestseller of all time?

What do yo non believers think of the bible being the number one best-seller of all time? There have been Over 6 billion sold, and 100 million bibles are sold each year. Do you really think us humans must be dumb or what not for the bible to be a bestseller, since many of you claim that it is a "fairy-tale" The fact that society nowadays is so scientifically and technologically advanced and the bible still sells more than any scientific book is amazing to me.

I even find it amazing that atheists often use and read the bible to prove God doesn't exist and that hiw word is false. Even non-believers are compelled to reading this magnificent book.

even if you dont believe in God, you have to admit the bible does contain many valuable morals and instructions on how to live and how to treat others with respect

I am not presumptuous enough to consider that nothing but literature, the alternatives are far too controversial. And if you read the Bible as literature, the KJV is certainly the way to go. Not only is the prose and poetry, brilliant in places, but its effect on English thought is incalculable. Psalm 23 and 1 John 3:16 and John all have their greatest power in this version. However, some parts of the Bible as literature terribly boring. Nehemiah is a litany of small-son of the third temple musicians who have only one significant bit of it: that the Jewish nation no longer read or speak Hebrew and had to translate the Torah for them. Numbers and Deuteronomy are also bits of the same boring. However, the literature and its impact on our thinking far beyond the boring parts and this is a must read for a trained claims, even if they do not buy into his theology.

Finally, the essays at the end of this version are very useful and very helpful in explaining the historical context and import most of what is written inside.
