I was thinking a good nickname for the name Marija is Maya. What do you think about it. If you don't like it or have other nickname's then write it down.

Sorry, but I personally think naming your child Marija is a bad idea. It looks very similar to a drug that is illegal to the US.

It is a good nickname

but nicknames don't always come from your name!
make them up have fun with making them!

Name the baby Maya (not Marija)...I'm just thinking about her school days. Try keeping the name as close to the real name and the most common spelling because eventhough you and I know how to pronounce it, others will probably pronounce the "J" in her name. It might hurt her feelings growing up in school...maybe not...but why try it if you're not sure? Ultimately, you need to do what you're comfortable with...I wish you the best of luck!
