    Does every US citizen have the right to a college education? Why or why not?

    If you show poor grades in High School , I think you should only be allowed to go to a community college for a second chance. If you have good grades in H.S you should go to college. People who are lazy should not attend college and WASTE time and money

    No. 1. some don't want to 2. others prefer occupations that don't require it and 3. why pay 50,000 dollars for an education in a service economy that only provides 13 dollar an hour jobs.I can see where people get confused - a 1999 college degree is the equivalent of a 1955 high school diploma.I am getting sick to death of the word 'right'.

    It is a privilege, not a right. I worked my hump off paying for college and worked 2 jobs..it took me 6 years to complete my 4 year degree but I cherish it every day because I worked and earned it- the Government did not offer it to me

    For the job being done in our schools I'm starting think maybe a free basic education shouldn't be allowed. It's taking my son 6 years to get a 4 year degree and he's doing mostly on his own. Back to your question HELL no.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

    Nothing is a right. It is a privilage to have access to a good education. We have made K through 12 a right in this country with the public schools. If you want more than that, you need to be willing to pay for it.

    Yes every child has a right to public education. As to a college education that depends on access to test scores, scholarships, references by and from educators in their high school. It is not a privilege but a opportunity enacted upon in a serious manner. If an individual from another country has this opportunity, why not every American. If for instance you had a parent who was say Irish American and one who was say, French born the country of France would contribute to that persons education as well as the American government.

    Not at all. Many people would just waste it. There are people that hate school or aren't mature enough to see it's value. I did not have any money when my son was colledge age & I worked all the time to get it. He did well in school. He started working at 13 to pay for his clothes & his own costs. Then when it was time for him to go to colledge we applied for a pell grant. I am so thankful this was available for him. He contiued to always work while in school. He went to work for a co. that paid for his education & I think he borrowed some money. He moved up at work & has worked many hours so has slowed down on how many classes he takes but he has stayed in school for years. He attended the most expensive U in the country working on his MBA....My husband has dylexia would someone like him be worthy of a colledge education. It would have been a waste but if he could have went to school to be an electrition we would have had it made. Everyone has gifts & talents & there are people who can tell what they are. I would like to see everyone get out of school being able to support themsselves but not put everyone in colledge. I am good at talking to people on the phone & I need a job but my job went to India or the Phillipines so I am not working.
