If your period is suppose to be around 14 days after your ovulation, how is it that I ovulated on day 9 of my cycle out of 31? I am so confused. I am not sure when to start testing to see if I am pregnant. Its been 14 days post ovulation but negative pregnancy test and no period. Someone please help

How is it possible that I ovulated on day 9 of my cycle but my last cycle lasted 31 days?
