I run NCAA D3 track. On monday we return back from our month long winter break. On monday we have to do a V02 max test (beep test) then we go directly out to the track and do a 400m time trial in spikes and blocks. I think its ridiculous that we have to run a time trial right after the V02 max test. Theres no way im going to get a good time being tired from the test and Its going to be in the 30's degree's on monday. Im easily the fastest 400m runner on my team by 3 seconds. I really dont want to do this. Should I just not try and give like 70% which might make my coach mad at me. Or should I just run enough to win barely? Or should I just give it my all and beat everyone easily and risk injury?
