my buddy just told me about a 5 day course that prepares him for the ccna exam (entry level) he has no college degree and his only computer experience is working at game stop. the course is $4,000 and is 12 hours a day for 5 days. i discouraged him from taking the course.. seemed like a scam.. so he has decided to also take a pre course to help him prepare.. the pre course is also 5 days.. he is under the impression that he will pass this test and be eligible to make 80k .. my father is an electrical engineer and thinks my buddy is naive.. what do you think?
how much/what kind of experience/knowledge would you recommed before taking the exam? also, with the cert., what kind of job would he be elible for w/o networking experience? est. salary?
