I have 3 hens, 2 standard hybrids (a Bluebelle & a Speckledy), and 1 Partridge Pekin Bantam. They have been living together now for 4 months and the bantam has always been top of the pecking order (regardless of her size!!). Despite the odd scrap when they were first introduced, the 3 have lived in relative harmony since then, but out of the blue, this week the Biggest of the birds seems to have developed a hatred for the bantam. She continually chases her if she gets to close to the food, or the 3rd hen, and is being quite aggressive to the point where she pins her to the floor and pecks her face and comb and wattles, even drawing blood on the odd occassion. Its really distressing for both us and the bantam as the bantam sounds distressed being in there, but becomes more distressed when seperated. Any ideas or advice on the situation would be greatly appreciated!! Really unsure as to what is triggering this behavior, and hows best to resolve it!! Thanks in advance...
