IMO 3 strikes & the dogs should be put down & you should be banned from having dogs.

I'm on the side of the complainant.

I leave Radio 2 on for them during the day, I leave them with a Kong filled with hard to get treats, I leave them with toys, I leave a baby gate up so they're not so locked in. I also have bought Adaptil Appeasing Pheromone adaptor to calm Lola down.

It's not due to her not being trained, she's suffering from Separation Anxiety, she's only a year old and before I moved (Dec 11) I shared a house with my daughter who was home most of the day. I say she only barks for half an hour because she's gotten better.

I also know she's not barking all day as I stand outside my flat a few times and can't hear anything. I wait for ten minutes when I shut the door and they don't make a sound.

I don't really see the need for your comments, and I really don't care whose side you're on!

    This is all very confusing.
You wait for 10 mins when you shut the door, they're quiet.
You go back and listen outside () during the day, they're quiet.
In between, you say they're barking for half an hour.

Personally, I find even a few minutes of dog barking very annoying.
As someone who's suffered at the hanRAB of noisy neigrabroadours before, noise can start to rule your life.
So it's entirely feasible your poor neigrabroadours are constantly on edge, just waiting for barks to happen.
Not because they're petty, or nasty, but because they're on edge and a bag of nerves.

We are back to what is good for the dog now rather than discussing the neigrabroadours.

Tell me, what is the difference to a dog being kept in a 2 bedroom flat to a dog being kept in a 2 bedroom detached house? I'm pretty sure dogs don't know the difference when they're inside.
So providing the dog gets plenty of exercise, being in a flat or a house matters little to it.

And before someone says it, I don't think dogs being left in the garden all day is any better. My old next door neigrabroadour did that (in the garden of his house, not a flat) and while I still suffered the constant barking from a very anxious dog, so did the 10s of other neigrabroadours in the area.

I know people with huge detached houses and keep their dogs in kennels (which is fine btw) so what is the difference between that and keeping dogs in a flat as long as they are well exercised and taken out regularly

Why don't you move? I feel for the neigrabroadours. I like dogs, but my neigrabroadours dog barks all the time and it drives me nuts and wakes me up so I know what it's like. It isn't your neigrabroadours fault you chose to have dogs. What about taking them to work with you?
