So, I was taking care of a terminally ill parent and trying to get my illustration career off the ground, and I haven't had enough income to have to file taxes in quite a few years. I've finally made enough, if just barely (still have to add it up, but we're talking just around 3 thousand, probably less). I live in Texas (no state tax, unless something has changed). However, I have no idea what tax form to use. My income has basically come from online art commissions from individuals, and from websites like CafePress.com where you get a small percentage of each product they sell with one of your designs on it. The only deduction I plan on making is for my student loan. Also, I currently do not have my own place but am now staying with a family member while I seek employment. Any advice on doing my taxes with this info would be greatly appreciated, especially which form I need to use. Thanks!
