Took my boat out today and I noticed a constant beeping sound after starting up the boat and slowing running it. Don't know why but the sound just won't go away. I recently serviced the motor myself which includes a new water pump, 2 thermostats, a fuel filter, new fuel line from tank to motor, and a fuel pump. It was running fine a week after putting in new items but today, the sound came on. I checked the motor and the water was coming out great, similar to someone peeing. This noise was so annoying and I got worried that my motor was over-heating...but why since I replaced most parts already. Since this is a 2-stroke motor, I did notice that my oil level was a bit low. Can that be causing the beeping noise to come on? What else could also cause it to come?
This is for a 1996 Nitro Savage 884 bass boat with a 150hp mercury XR6 2 stroke outboard motor.
