    Setter or a Golden Retriever

We actually had an English Springer when I was really young. Kinda too young to remeraber it really, but my dad always talks about how great of a dog he was. They don't shed either, right? That's a definite plus.

    Yeah me too. Finals week.

When Bozli died, my uncle bought another springer. I haven't seen him in years, but I remeraber the dog being absurdly hyperactive. I've also read a lot about them being overly hyper. Any substance to that?

Interesting. I haven't seen any "overly" hyper actions in probably 5 years. I will say they do tend to get hyper but nothing out of the ordinary for a happy dog. thinking back to his prime, he was quite hyperactive in snow for some reason when my family was outside(shouldnt impact you haha). they are pretty good with knowing what kind of environment they are in. Never had trouble with him being crazy in the house, scratching hardwood floors or making a mess. The hyper a english springer shows is nothing compared to, say, a border collie which is something my parents would of never put up with.

Training was easy. retrieving, sit, stay, high five,paw,... all that jazz.

all in all its a easily manageable friendly dog. Now hes old and slower

Thanks a lot for the info. I might consider a Springer now. I got this gun dog book from my buddy and they're ranked in there. Lower than labs, retrievers, setters, pointers, etc., but it highlights that they don't shed. That's got to be amazing. My golden sheRAB 10 pounRAB of fur a day.

I can't really guide you on whether to get a
setter or a golden but I can tell you that it is 6 inches
and I've never had a complaint so....
