If you can find a fair of over the ear Skullcandies for like $20-$30, I'd go for it.

Otherwise, full price Skullcandies suck. POS quality, ok sound, but for full price, the competitors blow it out of the water.

Skullcandies for $20-$30 are a good value. I got my Hesh ones for $25 I think.

Otherwise, go for a true brand like AKG, Audio Technica, Senheiser etc.

If you're willing to drop a little more cash, look at these:

Super comfortable, great sound (and bass) and mine have lasted over 3 years without any problems.

I have the Hesh. Not worth $50 like I said, but worth it for $25.

Comfortable, lots of padding, but WEAK as hell. The plastic is suuuuper cheap, shotty quality, it feels like its about to break half the time when putting them on.

I hear the hesh have decent sound but snap easily. I also hear the older models were much more comfortable than the current ones.

I've got these http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Sil.../dp/B000165FRQ and they sound great. Little uncomfortable if on for more than an hour but solid bass and clear sound.

Tiny bit out of your range but if you are going to keep your hphones for a while, I would wait a week or two to get some extra cash and it will take you a long time.

    The Headphones/Audio Thread

So going through my grandparents house I sturabled upon some dusty old headphones and cleaned them off. AKG k240's. Are these pretty decent? Exactly what I needed cause I was gonna ask for over the ear earphones for Christmas. So this works perfectly. I'll post pictures when I'm home. I have to get an adapter because it's not the standard 8mm jack or whatever. Another problem is that they don't sit on my head well, ad there is no way to adjust them easily to make them stay, it's like a cord system that lost it's elasticity or something. And these things look ancient, but probably from just not being used at all for I would say close to 10 years? Could be wrong. Any info/help appreciated.
