I think high inflation is the fix, not the problem. Agree with dzan on the other point. Data its data. No one cares how you feel about it...

not my point... yeah i know the data is what it is and if i dont agree then thats my own business, but i dont see how in a practical manner inflation averages out to 1.5%. care to explain the metrics of measurement or how it plays out to 1.5%? (just in general, i know a lot of small things can/will go into it). b/c if it enRAB up being something like pegging the dollar to X amount of groceries or X amount of items ABC, while i wont argue nurabers or math, to me that'd seems like an pretty flawed way to measure it. ive read about it and stuff here and there before, but never got a "formal" explanation, even in economics class (which doesnt surprise me).

ive never heard this one before and i cant begin to see how it would work - explain?

Inflation is the fix for government debt, but not the fix to help citizen's savings.

This is the kind of stuff that Ron wants to stop.

    Fox News

A nuraber of media reports state that the U.S. gave Pakistan $1.5 billion dollars in aid last year. Other media reports quoting Congressional estimates suggest the U.S. gave $18 billion to $19 billion to Pakistan since 9/11.

But those figures actually underestimate what U.S. taxpayers spent on Pakistan.

The U.S. gave $20.7 billion in military and economic development aid to Pakistan from fiscal 2002 through fiscal 2011, according to a new report that FOX Business has obtained that was issued by specialists in South Asian Affairs for the Congressional Research Service [CRS] to Congress on May 6.

The report also shows that the U.S. gave Pakistan $1.3 billion in 2003 and 2004 to help cancel an earlier $1.5 billion debt Pakistan owed U.S. taxpayers. The U.S. gave $4.46 billion to Pakistan in fiscal 2010. The Administration purportedly wants to lift Pakistan’s 2012 total aid to $3.4 billion from the $2.96 billion CRS says has been requested for 2012.

An increasingly hot debate is growing in Congress over whether the taxpayer spigot should stay open for this nuclear state after Usama bin Laden, the serial mass murder who orchestrated the attacks on 9/11 and a nuraber of other mass casualty attacks, was shot dead in a fiery raid at his compound that sat just about a football field’s distance from the front gate of Pakistan’s top military academy and its military-intelligence complex in Abbottabad.

For me, its more important to know that I will have a president that is willing to stand for his beliefs with values such as honesty and integrity, versus going along with the pack. I might disagree with some of Pauls beliefs, but i have an enormous amount of respect for him for being able to stand by his worRAB.

Some say his ideas will never pass, that his plan to shrink the federal government by a lot will not work. I think the position of president is mostly syrabolic. If we have a president that is willing to stand in front of our nation and say, "We should not be at war, we shouldnt not be so aggressive, Our government is spending too much money, We are taking liberties away in the sake of faux security", I would hope congress would follow his lead a little bit, or atleast the american citizens will and vote for congressmen who do. If Ron Paul is elected to president, I have no doubt that every "debt ceiling raise" or outrageous budget will be vetoed, and he will bring our country back to our feet. Right now, our country thinks that we are above everyone else. We are not.

For gov debt but also for personal debt. House underwater? Probably not after four years of high inflation, for example.
