In Tudor England, what was the difference between "the nobility" and "the gentry"?

Please only answer if you really know.
As far as I'm aware, nobility + gentry = aristocracy.

Nobility were the aristocracy, they all had titles.
The gentry were the minor aristocracy and the wealthy land owners.

Knights would often be gentry, but were not necessarily part of the nobility
