I am stuck with a big problem. Plz help me.

While designing theme for wave 2 GT S8530, at last we've to add "Manifest" and "Images"
I added Manifest successfully. But I am not able to add images. There are two things in Images itself.
Mainmenu Icon
Launch Image
What is the actuall purpose of these two things.? I am getting confused. Plz explain me what are the actuall images I have to put for these two.
And for Mainmenu Icon it is asking for the image size 100(w) x 96(h) with TRANSPARENCY in borders.
I have made an image with transparency borders, but it doesn't work
I tried a lot but i am not able to add and I am getting error as follows,

"The Size of the Mainmenu Icon for 480 x 800 resolution is only allowed 100 x 96 pixels with the transparent boundary"
HOW to MAKE TRANSPARENT BORDER?

Plz gimme a solution to solve this. Is there any image editing software to do this. kindly help me.
