I upgraded to an HTC thunderbolt with a 4G plan with Verizon in September (I am a secondary line in a family share). My new employer has given me an iPhone with AT&T, so I now want to cancel data on my phone. Is this treated as early termination? Since I will be retaining voice service with Verizon (on my old flip phone), what are the cancellation charges like? (I know a full ETF is $350 -10*months). In this case, if I pay a termination fee, do I still own the phone? I'd like to be able to sell it to cover the ETF.
