I need help protecting a pair of Robins that have decided to annually nest in my backyard.

Everyday a pair of Robins sit on my back porch and the male one continually runs into my glass door. At first, since I had the shades open, I thought he may have wanted to nest in my plants so I moved the plants outdoors. Then I moved a wicker chair away from the doorway and I finally just decided to keep the shades closed to not entice it.

That hasn't helped at all as he still insists on flying into the glass door all day. I am looking for advice on how to handle it since I don't want the bird to injure itself and die.
Okay thanks for answering the question guys.
