Help trying to remember a movie title ? (American thriller/horror)?

I remember watching this movie late at night whilst I was holidaying at KL, Malaysia.
It was on at like 11pm and ran into the morning. Only problem, I was prolly half asleep and started watching it about 20 min in the movie.

All I could remember from the movie was:
>>It had something to do with Friday the 13th(?)

>>There was this one scene where the protagonist and his best friend reenacted some dead bird and it was creepy. I remember he got into trouble for it after spraying some water to show an example. This was the scene which stuck in my memory the most.

>>I'm sure the protagonists father was dead, but people around him said that he was coming back alive.

>>I'm sure the protagonist ended up having some mental problem at the end.

>>The protagonist has a sister who dresses up like a goth(?) and she has a painting in her room about destruction or something like that.

>>Oh and I remember a few of his classmates ended up dying or something like that.

Sorry if this sound really vague, that was all I could remember from this movie.
I was hoping in anyone knew what movie this is
Nope it's not The Crow. I'm sure it was a 2006ish movie or around there.

Towards the end of the movie however, the protagonists best friend crawled in through the window after one of their friend (this dark guy) died after hiding inside a wardrobe...

This is the only movie I can think of with a dead dad, dead bird, and creepy kids. Would need more information.
