Do you ever fight Americans in any of the Splinter Cell games?

In any of the Splinter Cell games do you fight Americans on a consistent basis?
Like an enemy faction, not just as a single bad guy or something.

Fighting Americans in the Splinter Cell games does not necessarily happen. There is one part where you supposedly meet up with them on the Oil Rig and you need to follow them without being spotted. As for the rest, I couldn't really care or not.

Why does it matter if you fight those of your own kind? They all can speak English anyway.
