Four French soldiers were killed in Afghanistan and five wounded, including three in a serious condition, the office of President Francois Hollande said today in a statement.
The soldiers died in the northeast province of Kapisa early today and were attached to an artillery regiment from the French town of Suippes and a military group based in the city of Lyon, according to the statement. Hollande said the French defense minister was leaving immediately for Afghanistan.
