The guy that invented the TV remote control died today ... can we hold him at least partially responsible ...?

    ... for America's obesity problem?
So you don't think the ease to surf the myriad of channels facilitates a sedentary life style?
Pythia- Ben Franklin donating his lightening rod invention to society was noble.

Yes - that and a few other problems such as rising violence from young people who watch the 'cool' guys on TV doing it.. unfortunately cultural imperialism left out the fundamental fact that the first country to be imperialised is their own...

An ancient Iranian proverb goes that a camel always smells his own farts first...though personally I tend to think he/she might cop that of the camel in front first...

NO, It is the food and sedentary lifestyle and also the lack of will power. If Americans want to, they don't necessarily have use the remote.

no. that's like blaming the americans who won the war of independence for the problems in america today because they were the ones who started the country.

remote inventor dude made the remote, people became fat people, not because of remote inventor, but because they (the fat people) didn't do anything about it. it's not the remote's fault

Nope. We can never blame someone else for lack of personal motivation. That would be like blaming Ford Motor Company because I don't walk much since turning 16.
