I'm on probation - I have been for almost 9 years now, and I've behaved myself while on probation. Recently, a few people (I can only assume I know who, I don't know for a fact) have been causing some serious issues trying to lie to my probation officer about things I've been doing. For example, one of them told her I'm not paying my rent - which is bullshit, because I do, in fact pay my rent. Another told her I was doing drugs - what do you know, I passed my UA with flying colors.

I try very, very hard to keep drama-filled people out of my life. They're not worth the time and effort and I'm just not going to have it in my life. But, apparently, someone has decided that me not having anything to do with them means they should cause huge amounts of problems for me, which blows - especially because my probation officer is not exactly the friendliest person in the world.

What can I do about this? And why can people just not give it a rest?
