i was wondering what dictates a fever when using different kinds of thermometers. i know that if u take a temp rectally then a fever would be a temp over 100.2. and i believe that a temp over 100 taken orally is a fever. but i do not know what dictates a fever when using an ear thermometer or a forehead thermometer. i am wondering cause i went to the doctors once for being sick and they took my temp with a forehead thermometer and and then when the doctor came in he said my temp was 99.8 and he said that was a slight fever(no wonder i felt bad that day). and my normal oral temp is in the low 97's so i actually consider a temp of over 99 a fever for me.

so what would fevers been with all the different thermometers?
