Ok so I've finally decided to train in martial arts. However the thing that is troubling me is I don't know what method/style I should train in. I'm not looking to show off and just beat someone up or something. I kind of want to know for self-defense/real world situations. I heard Taekwondo isn't really applicable in real world situations. Honestly I'm looking for something that has an equal balance of both kicks and punches. If it helps I'm 16 and I'm in L.A thanks.
