I am thinking of thinking geology field course next summer, however, I like to keep up with the world and it will be a 24/7 10wk deal. This is, for me anyways, an unbearable amount of time to be separated from my interweb.

My father has this thing he can just plug into his computer and get internet wherever. Any idea what this is? Any ideas on alternatives?
