A local ballot measure wants to ban gill netting for oregon fisherman on the Columbia river. This seems mostly in regards to salmon and sturgeon. From what I read, I don't like the idea of gill netting but there are families, etc. that have done this for a long time and and if voted down it could cost these families their business, could cost jobs, etc. Sport fisherman would not be affected. What is unfair is washington state is on the other side of the river and gill netting there is ok. I don't like the idea of gill netting---it seems too indiscriminate or someething like that. Please help. Thanks!
Jack,

it was not me personally saying "Sport fisherman would not be affected" but it is information per info related to the ballot---sport fisherman are not affected by this vote---only those who use gill nets (native americans excluded). The vote is not aimed at sport fisherman.
