if you had your druthers (oh yes, druthers) would you rather see...?

Imagery, form (rhyme/meter) or meaning in a poem?
Choose only one and play nice!

Hi Dave, UM I sit on the big gray book of rules
    to boost myself up
and employ meaning as my tools.
After three years I'm pretty much aware
of my place in my scrambled poetry
and type with one hand while I play with my hair
    but most all I share
is from the real of me
and I do it cuz I do care

of the real of you and so many here.

Yowee, long ago I asked a question about if ya had yer druthers and it got deleted. I hope this one don't.

Well crafted imagery can evoke meaning in its own way.

"Unkempt auburn fall foliage in my pants."

what I want from a poem is depth of thought
imagery is a bonus, rhyme/meter only if the poem
calls for it." Does it communicate anything to me, or
is it just all style" A pair of shoes may look stylish
    yet hurt your feet.

In most of my experiences, I would have preferred meaning, however, I love rhyme/meter and imagery, when it is presented well. Choose one... I guess I should... meaning?
*edit, for what it's worth, I'd druther, and mostly do, only read and comment on things that I find uplifting in some way, shape, or form - in whatever form, so I miss an awful lot... guess you should count me out. : /
**edit, funny question, btw ~ it tickled me, kinda ~ hoo Hoo! ; )
***edit, skip me altogether, at this point. I actually try to avoid anything that makes me feel too much of anything, so I usually avoid most reading these days. I find denying any possible truth or fear a much more comfortable place to be! lol Peace ~

You can probably tell from my posts (if you've ever looked) that I'm partial to meter and rhyme. I do, however, like ALL kinds of poetry, including less popular forms.

Meaning is what i druther see. If a poem has meaning there is no problem with imagery.A person thinks in images so if a poem has meaning the images automatically come with the meaning for me.I couldn't see the point to a poem with out meaning. In my opinion meaning gives a poem the most important thing it has got.

I can't possibly pick one over the other. They are ALL equally important to me.
