About 4 days ago my Terrier got into the garbage and ate a little less than half a can of grease from some ground beef. The next day he was throwing up and wouldn't get out of bed. The vet told me to not give him any food and keep an eye on him. The next day he was even worse so I took him to the vet. She said he had pancreatitis. She gave him fluids, and a couple injections. She gave me pills for him at home, and he is to be on a bland diet for the next 4 days. As soon as he got the fluids, etc. from the vet he perked right up. He is acting like his normal self again. The vet told me pancreatitis is very dangerous and it doesn't mean it won't get worse, and gave me a # for an ER just incase. He seems better already. Could it still get bad again? How will I know when it's totally gone?
Since he got this from getting into grease once, and not from being overweight or anything, does that mean he can still get it again?
