Basically I want to learn some piano covers that I've heard on Youtube, but I'm not good enough to just learn them by ear, so I'm using software to help me. I've downloaded Synthesia, which plays MIDI files and visually shows the keys to play, which is good. I've also had no problem finding online programmes to convert youtube videos to mp3 files, I've been doing that for years.

The problem is, I now need to convert the mp3 files of these piano covers into MIDI files to play them through Synthesia.

Does anyone know of any inexpensive (preferably free) mp3 to MIDI converters that I can use?

N.B. I'll just be using it to transcribe piano music, so I don't need anything fancy, just something that can recognise piano notes.

Thanks!
Edit: To the person that said it's impossible, it's not actually. I've found many programmes (of which I've tried free trials) that sample the waveform and determine the frequency with the largest amplitude at any one time, and assign it to the corresponding musical note. The problem is, the best one I've found so far only lets you save the first 10secs of a MIDI song, unless I register, which costs $200. So I'm asking if anyone knows of any programme that can do this for free or for a low price. Oh, and PirateBay didn't have anything either.
