I finished school a semester early and went back home a few months ago. Since I was living away, I wasn't listed as a driver under my father's insurance policy. It slipped our minds to add me onto it when I got back.

I then into a small accident (just a few weeks of coming back) by sliding off the road into a ditch during a snowfall. The damage wasn't serious, but we filed a claim anyway. It got denied because we didn't warn the company soon enough and was subsequently cancelled for non-disclosure. I paid for the damage out-of-pocket and my father has since gotten a new policy, albeit slightly more expensive.

Im about to purchase my own car, and I know when I sign up for my own policy - an at-fault accident will appear and will reflect itself with an increased premium.

But will the "cancellation" appear/be factored into my new premium as well, or just on my father's (which it did)?
