Would my mini palm plant benefit from a self watering clay pot?

Would my mini palm plant benefit from a self watering clay pot? Or could I risk killing/rotting it? I really like my new pot

    The store behind the question...

I have had this mini palm for about 2 months, looks very green & healthy. It is kept indoors with some window light. Its been kept in a plastic cheap pot that it came in with holes for drainage. Until recently, yesterday, I bought a two pieced pot with no holes. Not having known that its a self watering clay pot until today. The inner bowl is unglazed, the outer bowl is glazed. I intended on using this new pot for my mini palm.

NO. A palm is a tropical plant that needs very little water, and a lot of light.
