As a kitten, my cat was subjected to a very traumatic experience at the vets. Since then, she becomes combative whenever she is put in her travel cage. One vet gassed her in order to treat her but the last time, at a new vet's, they "netted " her. I think I was more traumatized than her. She lost control of her bowels and bladder. The only thing the vet could do was give her a shot of Decadron for her inflammation and itching. Afterwards, it took me hours to get her and the cage cleaned up. I think I'll look for a vet that has a "gas box" even though the extra cost kills my budget. Any feedback about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Oh btw, I was given a prescription for Lorazapam .12.5 mg to .50 mg. every 8 hours. She weighs 18 pounds. I doubt if 0.5 mg is going to touch her prior to the vets visit.
