HTC has not really been known to deliver Android updates to the devices in a timely fashion. This Taiwanese manufacturer has learned its lesson considering the last couple of years they have been in a downward spiral. The manufacturer is delivering the Android 4.4 KitKat to the developer and unlocked versions of the HTC One flagship.
The Android 4.4 KitKat has improved performance and new features. For example, if a user is on their home screen or in Google Now, they just need to say “Ok Google”. When the user says “Ok Google” they are activated the voice search.
The user can now send a text, play a song, or even get directions. The Android 4.4 memory has been optimized and the touch screen has been improved. The phone now will respond faster and is more accurate than ever before. The user is able to multitask in various ways such as browsing the web and listening to music at the same time.
This phone will prioritize your contacts based on who you talk to the most. This phone also allows you to search nearby places, your contacts or anyone that is in your Google Apps domain. This phone contains a smarter caller ID which has everybody talking. If the user receives a call from an unknown person not in your contacts, the phone will search for matches from a local listing of businesses on Google Maps.
It has been reported that the Android 4.4 will bring a couple new additions to flagship. One of the additions includes Sense 5.5. Sense 5.5 is currently being enjoyed outside the U.S. by other HTC One owners. Once people have the Sense update, they will be provided the option to disable BlinkFeed.
BlinkFeed is something people see when they first unlock their phones. It gives news content that is relevant to the individual who owns the phone. The goal of BlinkFeed is for people to get a personal feel while using their phone.
Recently the Google Play edition was able to be treated to this new Android flavor. Of course this release was all stock. The one being released now is said to have an excessive amount of enhancements from HTC. The company has not provided a changelog therefore it is unknown which new features will present themselves.
People aren’t expected to get the updates all in one day. The company does not want the public to worry if their phones are not showing the update yet. The unlocked and developer models however should be the only ones to receive the update thus far. The carrier models HTC reported the Android update will be released by the end of January.
The Taiwanese OEM was one of the first to present the 4.3 Jelly Bean and now it has come through with their promise for the 4.4 KitKat. The company promised it would be released within 90 days and so far they are keeping true to their word. The release of the Android 4.4 KitKat is an enhancement to the future. If technology like this can be produced now, companies are excited to see what future technology will hold.
