When to a Harley Davidson Dealer yesterday, They snubbed me?

I was the only customer in the store, I figure they would roll out the red carpet and run to my aid, the salesmen just gathered together to stare at me.
I figured with economy being so bad and nobody buying anything that they would use everything in the book to high pressure sale me.
    I was disappointed
Was it the way I was dressed?
or,, do you think they knew I was a Japanese Motorcycle Lover?
"WENT" to a HD Dealer yesterday
    excuse my spelling
I live in the NE U.S.

I don't seem to have that problem with most HD dealers. I look like joe average in a t-shirt and blue jeans. I have owned two HD's now, a '79 FLH and a '09 RK. When I am not riding my bike you don't know I have a HD and when I am not sitting on it, you don't know it's mine. Some dealers suck but then so do some customers. I work in a retail shop and i can attest to the customer part. Bart, I think you may be one of them!

Gotta admit, my local HD mega-store is mostly boutique and the guys hire extremely cute girls who are super friendly to wait on customers. I took a walk through and I gotta admit, ten more minutes and I would have had the gold card out and my BMW loaded up with Harley leathers and handlebar tassels. Best staff in town, really made me want to drink the kool-aid and join the cult. But I preferred Harleys when they were sold in greasy garages by bearded bikers who smoked weed in the back room.

They do that to everyone even life long Harley owners. They looked down their noses at me when I went to buy a bike once and then when I told them I wanted that one they looked at me and said "just how do you intent to pay for this?" I reached into my coat and pulled out $16,000 and said "with this." I could barely get any ones attention the last time I bought one and spent about 2 hours screwing around trying to get someone to sell it to me. Harley dealers are pathetic and so are their service departments as well as their customer service. But they've got cool t shirts for your kids and fancy collars for your dogs and cats. Good luck getting a front fork seal or new hinges for your tour pack.

You don't say if you live in the US or other but here in Australia Harley dealers give you service even if you are just looking. They see you as a POTENTIAL CUSTOMER at some time in the future. I found it is the riders whe tend to be stuck up if you are riding anything other than a Harley. I'm gonna have me one of them thar Hardley Davidsons one day then I can snub my nose up at all them jap rider...European things are ok.
