You have to become a star in a sport first. Then you can become a top anchor. Or you get a degree in journalism and report on sports news for a local tv station.

I'm a female junior in High school. I have always wanted to be a news/sports anchor. What colleges are known for good programs in that category and what do you recommend I do to work my way up?
You probably can find a reference book about colleges with good TV/Radio programs. I'm a little biased toward Syracuse, but there are all sorts of others.
The rules are pretty basic -- doing your homework in school and about news/sports, learn the business, get an internship at a real station when you can.
For what it's worth, women have an advantage in sports broadcasting because they are on the rare side. You don't have to look like Erin Andrews to get a job in TV sports, but you do have to keep up your appearance a bit -- just like men do when they are on TV. Comes with the territory.
