Should my son be eating something thicker?

My 3 month old eats 4 oz every 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hrs.(5oz at night he sleeps through the night) He weighs a good 15 pounds so he is healthy but every time I finish feeding him he throws a crying fit and i don't know why... Should i switch to a thicker formula so it sticks to his stomach better?!

I would just give him a few more ounces and see if that helps satisfy him. Maybe he is still hungry. It is amazing how quickly they need more formula my kids his 8 oz at a time pretty early.
