Audio Specialist HELP! >Car audio question?

I want to put some more sound in my car make it sound a bit better. So i went to some car audio specialist and told him the same thing he did not mention nothing about new speakers or subwoofers he told me that if i bought a new head unit for my car my same stock speakers would sound better is that true?

I have a 03 civic stock radio with stock speakers and everything.
he said that my stock radio has 15 watts and if i buy a new one it would be 50watts then i ask him will it make a diffrence? He said yea because the new one is 50watts and the stock is 15watts so it would make it sound better....

I thought to my self my speakers sound disorted with my stock 15 watt radio and if i put a 50watt wont it blow up my speakers .. then i asked him and he said no..
    Is all this right?

Can i purchase a new head unit with same speakers and it will sound better if so how much better?

    Question 2.

What type of speakers and or subwoofer would u recommend i just want something basic that sounds clean and a bit more bass than stock but nothing to show off just something that sound clean from the inside not that makes the car shake or nothing like that.. HOw many subwoofers should i use and should i change car speakers also?
and what about the amplifier what do i use?

ps. if anyone has any good webpage links to were i can easily learn more about car audio please do link thanks!

Q1: Yes a new unit will make your car sound better because you have more functions and equalizers.

Q2: just need one sub but the brand is up to you. I personally like kicker and phoenix gold because its on a budget. Also hifonics amps are good on a budget and cheap on ebay. Get a one or two channel amp for subs

Okay, ill explain. Your factory radio is alright but you want a bit more sound. Changing the head unit will make a lil difference in sound. Also remember that different head units make the music sound better or worser then the next, but all in all, it will sound better then your stock. My recomendation would be a Pioneer Superturner D CD or CD/MP3/WMA cd deck. Ive always dealt with pioneer and it never let me down and gave my the best sound with all the levels of High/mis/lows, EQ set up.

Now your factory speakers may sound good, but even some cheap aftermarket 3-way mids would sound better then your factory set up. your factory system is just a one way mid woofer playing for high and mid-bass. A 3-way mid driver is a divided driver so that the 2 tweets plays nuthin but highs and the mid woofer plays nuthin but mid vocal and mid-bass. for better clearity, get components. May run more dollars but the sound is so much cleaner and clearer.

Now if you want some brands, first find out what size your factory set-up is, then shop. for mids get some pioneers, alpine, sony Xplodes, etc. They have some cheap prices for good brands, just depends where you look, ive always get some decent cheap mids from swap meets and low end audio shops. if you want bass for your car, go with 2 12" subs in a slot ported box( Not no cheap particle wood bass box) look for cheap prices for entry level subs. A good 500 watt amp with an amp kit will do the trick. look up on your local craigslist.com to shop around. Ill give you more details if you like, just email me at [email protected], and ill help you out on whatever you need info on.

Another site to check out is realmofexcursion.com for any details of certain questions you may ask. hit me back if you like.
