Thread: 125cc 2stroke dirt bike engine test?

how can you test a 125cc 2 stroke dirt bike engine if it has a problem on crankshaft,piston,piston rings,bore,reed valves. im planing to buy a used dirt bike 1998 to 2001 models like yz,kx ,rm. hope you can help me,many thanks

smoke can be a result of worn out rings. its a 2stroke so eventually you will have to replace a lot of it. minus the carb.

Just ride it and pinn it!! And if it goes thru the power band all right it should be fine.... Also check if its leaking,if it starts easy,it shifts good.
