I want to add some CGI objects to a regular home movie.(for example, videotape my yard and add a CG tank or something) I am guessing I have to buy/download a program to do so. Any reccomendations?
(A free program would be nice, but I would be willing to spend a some money.

You will not get one for free... sorry. They're just too complicated. Try Adobe After Effects. You can get student pricing if you're a student.
