can't prove anything. the maid might have been cooking lunch then, if she didn't have time to later, or if it were for a picnic.
butler might have polished away evidence.
wife might be using a cordless phone..or strangled him with the cord. like i said, can't prove anything

well...

the butler was "polishing the silver" (wanking) while on the phone to the "wife", so while they were preocupied, the maid put the cooking on hold, after all, she could just re-heat it in the microwave quicky.
sooo...the maid had ALL the time in the world to kill him.
